Eva's Journey Home
After 17 years abroad, Eva Apio returned to Uganda with a conviction that would transform hundreds of young lives—and a belief that echoes through everything we do.
“I am blessed to be a blessing.”

The Seed
She looked at the children and saw herself

“I looked at the children in my community and saw myself. I saw the same dreams, the same hunger to learn, the same potential waiting to be unlocked. I knew I had to act.”
Growing up in Uganda, Eva understood firsthand how circumstance could silence talent. She watched as children with brilliant minds and boundless creativity were held back by barriers they did not create—lack of school fees, no access to healthcare, nowhere safe to dream.
Her years abroad gave her perspective, but they never dulled her memory of what it felt like to be a child with big dreams and limited means. That memory became her mission.
The Path
Five chapters, one purpose
Roots in Uganda
Born and raised in Uganda, Eva witnessed the barriers that stood between children and their dreams. She saw talent go unrealized, potential left untapped, and futures written by circumstance rather than choice.
A World Away
Living abroad for nearly two decades, Eva gained resources, connections, and perspective. But distance only deepened her connection to home. She carried Uganda in her heart, knowing that every opportunity she received was a gift she was meant to share.
Blessed to Be a Blessing
The turning point came with a simple, profound realization: her blessings were not meant to stop with her. They were meant to flow through her—to water the dreams of children who deserved the same chances she had been given.
Coming Home
Eva returned to Uganda not as a visitor, but as a force for change. She founded the Eva Apio Foundation to create a safe haven where children could learn, heal, grow, and discover the talents that had always been inside them.
A Legacy of Hope
The dream continues with the Youth Center—a permanent beacon of hope that will serve generations. Eva's journey is proof that one person's decision to give back can ignite a movement that transforms thousands of lives.

Blessed to be a blessing
These five words are not just a motto—they are the heartbeat of everything we do. Eva believed that privilege carries responsibility, that abundance is meant to be shared, and that every person who has been given much owes much to those who have been given little.
This is the foundation upon which we build. Every scholarship, every meal, every tree planted, every dream nurtured—it all flows from this single, powerful truth.
The Future
A beacon for generations to come
Eva's journey does not end with today's programs. Her vision extends to a permanent Youth Center—a safe haven where children will learn, create, heal, and grow for decades to come.
This center will be more than a building. It will be a living testament to what happens when one person decides that their blessings are meant to be shared. It will stand as proof that every child, no matter where they begin, deserves the chance to become who they were meant to be.
